My name is Cara McGrath and I am a certified Pilates Instructor. I began my Pilates Certification in 2009 and I’ve been consistently instructing weekly Pilates classes since then.
I enjoy keeping up to date with current movement approaches and I am continually updating my training and adding to my qualifications. Regularly attending local, international and online seminars, workshops and courses is also a passion of mine.
Some recent courses and seminars include:
- Lynn Schultz’s Birth healing Summit
- Spiral Dynamik annual conference,
- Chi Running Instructor Training
- Thomas Meyers Body Reading Masterclass
- The Female Pelvis and the cycles of Life
- Karin Gurtners Slings Myofascial Training
- Julie Wiebs Piston Science series
Over the years I’ve developed a contemporary approach to Pilates being influenced by all of the above as well as Yoga , Primal Flow and functional fitness and I have a special interest in post natal rehabilitation.
Clients of all levels are welcomed to my Pilates and Yoga classes. I like to work closely with local physiotherapists and other manual therapists so that I can to take into consideration the requirements of my individual clients within my classes, offering modifications where necessary.
I also work 1-1 with clients who might need assistance in preparing to return to a general Pilates class or general fitness. Alongside my Pilates classes, I instruct Children’s Yoga classes. I am also certified through Meditation Alliance International to teach Meditation, NTC as a General Health & Fitness Instructor and I am a certified Chi Running Instructor.
When I’m not instructing classes you might find me on the climbing wall with my husband Richard and our daughter Rhea, hiking the Commeraghs or out for a run along Hook head.
